The aim of Strothoff International School is to provide an outstanding international education for 3- to
18-year-olds in a welcoming and caring environment. English is the main language of instruction, but all
students are expected to study German at the appropriate level once they have achieved the required English
competence. Strothoff International School has been authorised as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World
School since March 2011. In April 2017, Strothoff International School was very proud to receive official
accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and
Colleges (NEASC). In the world of international education, this is the gold standard of quality assurance.
The IB offers three main educational programmes based on students’ ages: the Primary Years Programme
(PYP) for students nominally aged 3-10, the Middle Years Programme (MYP, 11-16) and the flagship IB
Diploma Programme (DP) for the final two years of high school.
The common link between these programmes is the commitment to the highest quality international
education, giving each child the space to develop in his or her unique way whilst learning to be a productive
and responsible member of the global community. The IB Diploma is recognised by leading colleges and
universities as an outstanding preparation for tertiary education, and has grown to become one of the most
widely accepted entrance qualifications to academic institutions worldwide.
All our staff are committed to the safety of the students in our care and to the quality of their education. We
will help them to explore the boundaries of their knowledge and to expand their horizons, whilst encouraging
lifelong learning and a curiosity and respect for cultures different to their own.
Looking forward to a great school year with you all.
